Calendar Printing

April 24th, 2007 by Jason DeBoer-Moran

Question regarding Google Calendar and Printing.

When you select print weeks to print in Google Calendar, it only allows a maximum of 7 weeks to be selected.  When you select the print icon on the google page it creates a PDF of your calendar, but on two pages.  Any ideas how to get some more advanced printing out of calendar?

The Holy Grail of Synch

April 11th, 2007 by Jason DeBoer-Moran

Here is an article I continually find related to google calendar synchronization, ipods, cell phones, home desktops, and work desktops.  This requires the use of a third party, but we may be able to integrate it locally.

Funambol – Open Source Calendar Syncronization

March 29th, 2007 by Jason DeBoer-Moran

While searching for information regarding how to synchronize Outlook with Google Apps. I kept stumbling across Funambol as an option through ScheduleWorld.  My concerns is that ScheduleWorld is yet another site that would be having its hands on my data.  It turns out Funambol is an open source server side application that could be run here and can synchronize Google Calendar with iPod Calendars,  SmartPhones, PocketPC,  Blackberry, Palm Software, and Outlook.  I did not go to in depth because server side administration items tend to fly over my user services focused mind.

This could be a potential open source solution housed here that would resolve our syncronization issues.

Here is a support document for Outlook 2007.  This states that it is possible to easily transfer calendars between Google calendar and Outlook 2007.  It does not use the word synchronize.

Sharing calendars

February 13th, 2007 by Mark Schuler

Calendars seem to have two basic levels of sharing, global (public) and individual, with some granularity on what is displayed.  Can a calendar be shared only in csp.edu gmail area?  Can accounts be set up initially with such sharing turned on to show availability but to hide details?

For our test, how do I find your csp.edu calendars? Email addresses don’t seem to work.

Google Calendar: http://www.google.com/googlecalendar/overview.html

Once you sign into the Gmail accounts Mike created for you, click on the Calendar link at the top of the page. One of the biggest questions to answer: how do we share/view calendars?

Go ahead and post ideas/procedures in the comments.

If you want to try adding my calendar, my address is: drew.geraets@csp.edu
I’ll add some faux events.

Synchronization of calendar

February 13th, 2007 by Mark Schuler

Initial issue seems to be synchronization of calendars with a portable device. It is a big gripe on Google Calendar discussion lists. Some use Remote Calendar at https://sourceforge.net/projects/remotecalendars/ and there is a commercial product Companion Link http://www.companionlink.com/products/companionlinkforgoogle.html. I’ll play with it.
